Who is “Mr. Sedona”?

  • Why visit a place…only to miss really seeing it?

Although millions visit Sedona annually,  the average stay is but a couple of hours. The two-hour-tourists are served by at least 5 colors of jeep tours, as well as tours on an ATV, a Hummer, a Segue and a Trolley. For two hour tourists, they offer two hour tours.

They allow you to point to the land at a distance, but not to touch it. They describe the land, but don’t let you feel it. Frequently, they drive over the land as if they were trying to hurt it, rather than walking it with respect. Since none of them leave the road, none of them see the real Sedona. There ought to be another way.

For 15 years, there has been. The “Mr. Sedona” team – the original, founding guide, and those who have followed him – offer a unique, personal experience of Sedona that endures the highlight of any visit.

Dennis Andres has enjoyed mystical experiences at Machu Picchu, dinner with the King of Mustang and honors from the Siberian Communist Party. Since 1996 he has tapped his passion for nature, energy and sacred sites, guiding to many of the world’s great places. In Sedona he has hiked more than 5,000 miles, and written the area’s 3 best-selling books.

Jason Danoff  has outdoor experience beyond his years. Born and raised in Prescott, Arizona, he has as many adventures under his belt as he has miles under his shoes. In the latter case, that’s thousands of miles hiked in Sedona and the surrounding national parks and forests. When he isn’t hiking, he may be free climbing, bouldering, caving, fishing, cliff jumping, wakeboarding, wake-skating, trail running, meditation, swimming, snowboarding, skiing, or kayaking. Yet his warmth and friendliness have trained him not to take his abilities (or more importantly, yours) for granted. Hike with Jason, and you may find yourself a convert to the Church of the Great Outdoors.
